It started of as an idea for a Christmas song that would
be more general and talk about the season, thus: Winter is Here. I
worked on concepts and such at my studio and was originally going
to just hire Nolan to sing on the track.
I have my own studio for my film and TV
composing, but I had worked with EMP audio
on some projects with
excellent results, and I knew it would give me an extra set of great gear
and great ears, Jason Jenkins. So I charted a week with them both
for making this song. We ended up tracking almost everything there
at EMP with Jason.
Nolan performed most of the parts and
ended up co
writing the song! Jason then edited tracks and gave stems to
me to take back and edit and make new parts and so on. Jason did
an incredible job recording and mixing.
Nolan Neal is an incredible musician and songwriter,
as well as performer on multiple instruments. Nolan and Jason are
the secret behind the quality of this song. |
